I am suing the school board to defend free speech so that parents and teachers can protect children from sexually inappropriate materials.
My name is Carolyn Burjoski, and I was a teacher with the Waterloo Region District School Board for more than 20 years. On January 17, 2022 I was registered as a delegation to the Board of Trustees meeting and allotted 10 minutes to speak. During my presentation, I read excerpts from two children’s books available in our elementary (K-6) school libraries and I criticized the age appropriateness of the sexual content.
